[photo of Mum] Mum and Dad have been doing Aikido for years. Both have gained black belts in the art. One day I might try it too, so I get a bit of practice trying to throw Mum and sit in seiza like Dad. [photo of Dad]
[photo of me sat in jail] Here's my latest trick. On the left you see me sat in jail. I can reach for the bars and....

...pull myself up to standing. Sometimes. Other times I end up flat on my back.

[photo of Emily&me] Emily and I are about seven months old, but our other friend Ellen has been crawling for ages now. So we arranged a bit of secret training, just the two of us (and Emily's mum), to try to catch up.

So far my best efforts are described by Mum as "a bit like swimming on dry land". I'm told that it's easier to do that in water.

Well, it took a month, but here I am at just after 8 months old, and I can crawl! Allegedly neither Mum nor Dad ever learned to do this when they were babies.

Maybe they didn't have a cat to chase. Marbles is very good with me - she lets me grab big tufts of fur and doesn't skag me as she would if anyone else did it. Maybe she thinks I'm some sort of odd-looking kitten or something.

[photo of me in the bath] Bath time is my favourite time of the day. Sometimes even Marbles the cat comes to keep an eye on proceedings. Strangely, she never seems to want to get in the bath herself. There would be plenty of room.
I love the swings. My Mum and my friends' mums often take us to one or other of Swansea's many nice parks, and we get to swing and slide and see-saw whilst the Mums observe from a safe distance. [photo of me at the swings]
[photo of me standing] I'm eight-and-two-thirds months old now, and I can do more than just stand up, I can stand up and pinch things Mum and Dad thought were safe on the coffee table.
Oops. Tricky stuff, this standing up business. Here Mum has unkindly managed to get a photo of me losing it totally. [photo of me falling over]
[photo of ball-game machine] I've got this ball-game machine. You stick the balls in here at the top and they travel down the slides (making lots of noise!) and end up in a chute at the bottom. Good fun, and plenty of useful hand-eye coordination practice.
There is only so much posing for photos that a guy can take, so I express displeasure with a really good frown that I copied from Siriol at the Aikido club. [photo of me frowning]
